Guild 11 Work Report
Guild 11 has collaboratively developed a wide range of activities and resources aimed at enriching the project and encouraging the active participation of students while promoting competency-based learning and teamwork.
First, the team created its own avatars in the three project languages: English, German and French. These avatars will be used to interact with students through the project's forum, fostering communication, encouraging the use of foreign languages in authentic contexts, and supporting students throughout the different stages of the Camino.
In addition, Guild 11 designed, developed and reviewed the following materials and activities:
Project Logo. Students designed several logo proposals, which were then put to a vote to choose the official image representing the project.
My Spiritual Backpack. An activity focused on learning vocabulary related to emotions and feelings in all the project languages, encouraging students to reflect on the personal growth that the Camino de Santiago represents.
Pilgrim's Backpack Activity. Students learned and practised vocabulary related to the essential equipment that every pilgrim should carry in their backpack before starting the Camino.
Glossary: The Way of Saint James. Students created a multilingual glossary containing the most important terms related to the Camino de Santiago. They then completed a variety of activities to reinforce and consolidate this vocabulary.
Data Protection and Copyright Twinboard. Students created interactive games and activities to raise awareness about data protection, copyright, and the responsible use of the Internet within the project.
The Pilgrim's Budget (Seniors). Students prepared a budget for completing the Camino, taking into account the distance to be travelled, different routes, accommodation costs, meals and other travel expenses.
- The following activities belong to the guild 11's activities:
Camino de Santiago Stops. Students developed a comprehensive guide to the main stages of the Camino in all the project languages. For each stop, they prepared resources including:
research on accommodation, restaurants and traditional local cuisine;
information about monuments and places of interest;
interesting facts presented by the avatars in the different languages;
video guides recommending activities to do at each stop;
a historical description of each town or city;
an analysis of how each destination promotes its cultural heritage and tourism in order to attract pilgrims.
All these resources have been developed with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary learning, cooperative work and a deeper understanding of the Camino de Santiago from different perspectives, integrating linguistic, digital, mathematical, cultural, social and artistic competences.
The work carried out by Guild 11 has made a significant contribution to the progress of the project by providing high-quality educational materials that will support students' active participation and the successful implementation of the planned activities, while also fostering international cooperation and experiential learning.
